Recent storms have caused serious erosion to our beach LZ. There is now a 6-8' cliff between our alleyway and the beach. See photo. 02/17/19
Our weather station has been repaired
Our anemometer had worn out, and had to be replaced. Our weather station is now back in service. 05/18/17
National insurance issues
Due to new insurance requirements, MCHGA has agreed to include paraglider pilots in the club. Effective immediately, paragliding at Mt. Tam will be administered and regulated by MCHGA instead of BAPA. 05/06/16
1st Aid Box has moved
The MCHGA first aid box has been moved to a new location, by the big tree where we land. Click here for map and info. 8/01/09
The FCC has warned hang gliding and paragliding pilots not to operate hand-held radio transceivers without a license. Failure to heed this warning could result in criminal penalties ranging from $7,500 to $10,000! For information about obtaining an Amateur Radio license, click here.
- Winter storms have removed a significant amount of sand from our beach, this year. As a result, medium to high tides are restricting our LZ. Be sure to check tides before coming up to Tam. 01/19/19
- There is currently no windsock at launch. Bring your own, and be sure to take it with you after flying. 09/21/16
- We now have a windsock posted at the end of the alleyway, for landings. 09/21/16
- The Seadrift sign has washed away, again! Please continue to observe the boundary that begins with the north side of our alleyway, and land south of it. 01/03/19
Club meetings have been rescheduled for the first Thursday of each month. (All meetings include an informal no-host dinner.) For our next meeting, we will be returning to the Cheesecake Factory in Corte Madera. Map and directions.
